Data Scientist

Job description

Our partner company, Satori Analytics, is looking to hire a Data Scientist.

Satori is an Analytics Agency made with one simple vision: to give clarity in decision making through data analytics. With specialist teams of data scientists, cloud and data engineers, Satori has the depth and experience to deliver any data-centric solution and connect all the dots. Whether it’s a cloud-based big data ecosystem for a global fintech or a machine learning model predicting churn for a leading airline group, Satori develops cutting edge analytics solutions, providing real value to its clients. Services cover the whole data lifecycle from ingestion and warehousing to ML and AI applications.

We are currently looking for a prodigy Data Scientist to support our clients’ product teams with fresh insights gained from analyzing various company data. Specializing in the provision of data-backed decisions, we need you to translate raw data into easily digestible information for all types of audiences, even for those who are not as data and analytics savvy as you.

Who are you?

You have probably tried to explain to your grandma (or friends!) what you do for a living. She still doesn’t quite get it but she’s happy for you, because you are so passionate about what you do.

You have 2+ years of experience manipulating datasets and working actively as a Data Scientist in a business setting. You have also deepened your knowledge with a Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or another quantitative field. This is not a must, but it’s definitely a-nice-to-have.

When you hear the word “language” the first thing that comes to your mind is Python. You are comfortable with SQL. You have a solid knowledge of a variety of machine learning applications (from propensity to churn, to customer clustering, to cross-sell and various classification and regression techniques) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.

But your superpowers don’t stop there. Having used tools such as Power BI or Tableau you understand what good visualisation looks like and finally, in the best case scenario, you also have experience with big data processing engines like Apache Spark and you have been exposed to Google Cloud Platform.

But we don’t only care about what you know, we also want to know who you are!

You are an excellent problem solver. You always confront challenges with a result-oriented approach and a healthy mix of strategic and creative thinking.

You have a strong record of proactivity and great self-management skills. You see yourself as a highly organized multi-tasker who can prioritize and meet tight deadlines like a pro. And you do all this, while also maintaining a keen eye for detail.

You are a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable you to coordinate effectively across teams.

You are a fast learner and you have a “can do anything” attitude. You have an insatiable drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

What your day to day will look like.

You will be working in a vibrant environment, so you can never expect to have just another typical day at work. It’s definitely not your comfort zone, but you will never get bored, that is a promise.

You will split your time & attention to the following:

  • Break apart problems scientifically, and interpret data with a clear objective in mind.
  • Mine and analyze data from our clients’ databases to drive innovation and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
  • Form hypotheses and validate. A/B test newly developed solutions and compare them with legacy approaches.
  • Act as a strong advocate of using data science to drive decisions.
  • Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers, providing insights and findings to both technical and non-technical partners.

Our most important perk is offering you an energy-laden workplace with some of the market’s top talent and an opportunity to see your work affecting big real-life business decisions. Apart from that, here are some highlights:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • 25 days holiday
  • 1 day per week working from home
  • Private Insurance
  • A laptop of your choice
  • Dedicated training time and budget for courses in Greece, London or/and online
  • Opportunity to work with latest tech stack and real data science experts
  • Amazing offices!
